Kill Call by Jeff Wooten takes us on a crazy ride. We are thrown in at the deep end with this one, as the story starts by following the main character and what seems to be someone he’s stalking, only to be interrupted by someone he knows from school. While we watch our main character cope with the gruesome images he sees in his dreams, we learn more about him and his family background. He and his father, guardians of a sort, are trying to protect people whose futures they see.
This book combines horror and supernatural aspects, giving us a look at the lives of young people and how they cope with challenges beyond who they want to take to a party, though that is certainly a serious concern in teenage years. With that in mind, the characters are in high school, and some of the situations may be uncomfortable for people who are not fans of darker genres, so make sure you are prepared for a bit of blood when you go into this one.
Pick up Kill Call. You will have a blast.
